At Junee Preschool we base our curriculum on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The children will work toward the 5 outcomes listed through out the year.
Children have a strong sense of identity
Children are connected with and contribute to their world
Children have a strong sense of well being
Children are confident and involved learners
Children are effective communicators
It is well documented that children learn through play. Our program is centred around play and developed through the children’s interests.
Educators at Junee Preschool will work towards these outcomes by planning a mixture of child directed activities based on the children’s strengths and interests, and intentional teaching. Children will be observed during their play and activities, and these observations will be recorded in Xplor for families to see what their children are doing each day. When an observation of a child is uploaded to Xplor, parents/carers will be able to see it on their Xplor Home App. Photos on the app can be saved to your phone or device or shared with family and friends.
At the end of the year, each child receives their own special “hard work book”. This is a collection of the printed observations, photos and pictures that they have created and participated in through out the year. This portfolio is a beautiful snap shot of the children’s year at preschool.
Some of the specialised programs we offer at Junee Preschool are:
Ninganah No More - our Aboriginal language program, helping all children to engage with Wiradjuri language and culture.
Fruito - to encourage healthy eating practices, and so that our children are able to continue playing while re-fuelling, we supply fruit and vegetable platters for children to choose something yummy to munch on during their morning play.
Auslan - we use key word signs to help with language development, and Auslan signs are integrated into our program.
